Northern Fleet (NF) marines in cooperation with naval aviation have captured and destroyed "enemy" positions at company tactical exercise.

Interaction with NF air crews was practiced during the firing drill at the target field. Having received targeting information from marines, two Su-33 fighters suppressed "enemy" strong points by bombing-missile air attacks.

"Marines held the exercise having high results in combat training", pointed out NF Coast Defense Troops Commander Col Andrei Guschin. "Key objective was improving interaction between units in defense and offense, testing of commanders' skills, preparedness for engagement in severe polar conditions.

Over 200 servicemen were involved in the exercise which was one of the core activities in winter training period. The drills were held by assault company, crews of twenty BTR-80 armored personnel carriers, NF marine's mortar, grenade launching, and reconnaissance units.
