Pacific Fleet (PF) Surface Ship Harbor Defense Brigade and PF Diesel Submarine Division based in Primorsky Krai, Russia received new-style colors. Symbolically, the ceremony was held on the 80-th jubilee of the surface ship brigade.

Two Pacific Fleet Units Received New Colors

Combat banners were consecrated by Sergius, representative of Russian Orthodox Church. Afterwards, Eastern Military District Commander ADM Konstantin Sidenko handed them over to the unit commanders.
The solemn ceremony was attended by PF top-ranking officers, representatives of Primorsky Krai Assembly and Vladivostok City Administration, veterans of the mentioned PF units.
When the solemn flag-handover ceremony was over, mariners of the two PF units paraded on the pier.
According to Eastern Military District Commander ADM Konstantin Sidenko, "these colors and banners symbolize honor, valor and courage of the Russian military and put high responsibility upon naval mariners. For each serviceman standing in this line, handover of combat banner is an important moment of a lifetime".
After the ceremony, the colors will be kept in headquarters and trooped when meeting ships and submarines from combat missions, annual holidays, and other remarkable events.
