Project 11982 research ship Seliger built by JSC Yantar Shipyard has completed basic stage of sea trials and returned to the yard's quay for revision, reports press service of Yantar.

Seliger returned from the shipyard's acceptance base in Baltiysk on May 21. Operation of main powerplant, propeller-rudder equipment, navigation and communication aids, radioelectronics and general-purpose systems were tested during the trials. Serviceability check of stern launching and lifting system was carried out without problems; for that purpose, mockup submersibles were used.

According to the ship construction manager Vitaly Murovsky, the ship made a good showing at the trials; all designed parameters were proved without fails.

Currently moored at the shipyard's quay, Seliger is being prepared for the transfer to the permanent basing site in the Black Sea to finish sea trials and begin state acceptance tests.
