President of United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) Roman Trotsenko on June 14 sent letters of resignation to Vice Premier Dmitry Rogozin and directors of the corporation. Trotsenko requests to relieve him from duties since July 1, 2012.
As is expected, in the nearest time Dmitry Rogozin will issue a directive for further voting on this matter by governmental officials amid USC directors.
Roman Trotsenko has worked in the company for even three years (since July 1, 2009 till July 1, 2012). He headed the Far East Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Center, since Oct 2009 he was holding the post of acting president, and in May 2010 he occupied the USC president's chair.
Through this period, list of USC affiliates has significantly increased. The corporation absorbed Yantar Shipyard, Amur Shipyard, Krasnoye Sormovo shipyard, Proletarsky Zavod plant, Astrakhan Production Association and a number of other enterprises. Under direction of Trotsenko, the company's income has 2.5 times increased, order backlog become 6 times larger and exceeded RUR 1.5 trillions. Profit of the holding company has grown by 8 times.
The newest large-capacity shipbuilding complex was designed and constructed from scratch in Bolshoi Kamen at the Far East. The largest and the most advanced plant in Russian shipbuilding industry will be launched in Nov 2012.
After successful modernization at Sevmash shipyard, Indian aircraft carrier INS Vikramaditya started sea trials on June 8.
Price negotiations and contracting of all series of warships up to 2020 were effectively completed in May 2012.
At present, forming of the corporation and the order book have finished, crisis management program has been completely accomplished.
Decision regarding the new president of USC will be made at the annual stockholders meeting to be convened till July 1.
JSC United Shipbuilding Corporation is the Russia's largest shipbuilding company. It was established by presidential decree in 2007; 100% shares is in federal ownership. The holding comprises about 60 companies and organizations of shipbuilding industry (largest shipyards and ship-repair plants, leading design bureaus).
Presently, the corporation consolidates about 70% of national shipbuilding sector. Although the company is oriented on Russian market, it exports production to 20 countries.
