Black Sea Fleet to Attend International Cooperation Activities in 2012

Activation of the Black Sea Naval Cooperation Task Group (BLACKSEAFOR) will be held in August. Its current commander, representative of Russian Navy, will hand over command to his Turkish counterpart.
BSF large landing ship will head for the Mediterranean Sea in Oct 2012 and call at ports of Montenegro and Greece. Russian mariners will take part in the Russian Week on Corfu (Greece) and in festivities related to 185-th anniversary of Navarino Battle in Pilos port.
In Nov 2012, BSF ship will participate in the IONIEX Russian-Italian exercise annually held off Italy.
Along will international military cooperation, BSF ships will perform several scheduled deployments to the Mediterranean Sea.

In accordance with International Cooperation Plan 2012, ships of Black Sea Fleet (BSF) will participate in a number of joint exercises and representative activities in the Mediterranean.
