Steering committee of the US Democratic Party Convention apologized for the ludicrous incident when instead of American warships on the background image during the veteran-honoring ceremony appeared Russian ones, writes The New York Times.

The mistake was noticed by a reader of The Navy Times; he pointed out that the ships looked differently than those he used to serve in. Naval experts concluded there were Soviet-built ships of Russian Black Sea Fleet on the photo.

According to a spokesman for the Democratic Party Convention, steering committee of the US Democratic Party Convention tenders apologies for the mistake.
