Black Sea Fleet Attends BLACKSEAFOR Activation

Russian Navy was represented by Capt 1 Rank Georgy Shelest, chief of Black Sea Fleet (BSF) International Cooperation Dept.
Participants discussed transparency of BLACKSEAFOR activities from the viewpoint of media coverage, efficiency of computer communication system mounted on the participating ships, scenario of the forthcoming April activation and unscheduled exercises.
In accordance with BLACKSEAFOR program, the next session of planning group will take place in Golcok in third decade of Jan 2013.
Basing on the rotation principle, since Aug 2012 command of the BLACKSEAFOR is carried out by Capt Hakan Güneş (Turkish Navy) taking over command from Russian Navy's representative Capt 1 Rank Yury Zemsky.

Planning group of Black Sea naval cooperation task group (BLACKSEAFOR) convened at Turkish naval station Golcuk. The session was attended by representatives of Bulgarian, Georgian, Romanian, Turkish, Ukrainian, and Russian navies.
