Northern Fleet to boost housing construction in Severomorsk

09.01.2009 Russia’s Northern Fleet plans to spend eight billion rubles on housing construction in Severomorsk.

Vitaly Voloshin, head of administration in the closed town of Severomorsk, believes the city’s outlooks for 2009 are good, in spite of the financial crisis. The Northern Fleet has been granted ten billion rubles – eight of these will be spend on housing construction in Severomorsk. The apartments are primarily intended for military personnel on contract. The town will get two new residential districts with 40 new apartment buildings and kindergartens with 1120 places. There are also plans to build a new sports centre and indoor water park.
