OSK shipyards’ boss Pakhomov picked to head JSCo Sevmash board

Vladimir Pakhomov, the president of the Joint Shipbuilding Corporation OSK, has been appointed chairman of the board of Sevmashpredpriatie.
The decision was made at the first expanded meeting of the management of the two companies, Interfax reported on Monday, citing the press service of Sevmash.
The meeting also approved the main vectors of activity of the company, as continuation of work on the construction of the nuclear subs Yury Dolgoruky and Severodvinsk, a decision on the price tag for the aircraft carrier Vikramaditiya, which is undergoing modernization at the shipyards for the Indian Navy, as well as perspectives for the construction of tankers for chemicals, the press service said.
In addition, questions related to the financial well-being of Sevmash were addressed.
Ten members were voted into the new board: General Director Nikolai Kalistratov, member of the Military-Industrial Commission under the Government of the Russian Federation Vladimir Pospelov, Commander of the Russian Navy Vladimir Vysotsky, the head of the government-controlled company RosTechnology, the heads of the shipbuilding departments of the Russian Ministry of Industry, Trade and Perspective Development, the Joint Shipbuilding Corporation OSK, the territorial authorities of the Russian Property Agency’s division for the Arkhangelsk region, the industry department of the government-controlled Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Activity, as well as the company Severny Tsentr Sudastroyeniya i Sudoremonta.
Sevmash emphasis in on building nuclear subs for the Russian Navy, and it employs 25,000 people solely on that front. The company has built 45 surface ships, 163 subs, including 128 nuclear subs, since its creation in 1939.
The heavy aircraft carrier Vikramaditya is being repaired at the shipyards within the program of military-technical cooperation with foreign countries. Two diesel-electrical subs have also been built.
Over all, the factory, which occupies a territory of more than 300 hectares, includes more than 100 divisions.
