Russian and Indian warships conducted joint antipiracy maneuvers in the area of the Horn of Africa,Captain First Class Igor Dygalo, and aide to the commander of the Russian Navy, told Ria Novosti.
“The antisubmarine ship of the Pacific Fleet Admiral Vinogradov and the Indian frigate Tabar practiced a number of maneuvers designed to escort civilian cargo ships in pirates-infested areas,” Dygalo said.
Dygalo indicated that Russia could well join the antipiracy efforts of other countries in the region. It could be maneuvers, as well as practical actions to prevent pirate attacks, he added.
