The Zvezdochka shipyard supplies to foreign consumers spare parts for warships at the cost of $30 mln in 2009

08.09.2009
OJSC Zvezdochka Ship Repair Center (Severodvinsk, Arkhangelsk District) will deliver spare parts, tools and accessories (SPTA) for naval ships of foreign customers at the cost of $30 mln in 2009. That was reported by PRIME-TASS referring to Vladimir Nikitin, the shipyard director general.

According to his words, key customers of SPTA are India and some Asian countries. In two recent years export volume of spare parts has been considerably increased, both through intermediary of Rosoboronexport and without it, remarked V. Nikitin.

As it was previously reported, in 2003 Zvezdochka gained the right to conduct independent foreign economic activity on maintenance and repair of diesel-electric submarines. Since autumn 2008 domain of that right has been extended to surface ships – 956E-class destroyers. Zvezdochka Ship Repair Center participates in military-technical cooperation programs for over 11 years. Dominant activity in this area is overhaul and update of 877EKM-class diesel-electric submarines and delivery of SPTA for them.
