Zvezdochka Ship Repair Center was appointed as the prime contractor of rearmament of Indian submarines, says the shipyard's press-service.

The modernization will be performed on Indian shipyards.

According to the contract signed between FSUE Rosoboronexport and Indian Navy, the new missile system will be mounted on Russian-made submarines Sinduratna, Sinduraj, Sindushastra and Sinduvir (877EKM Project).

Along with other contractors like OKB Novator, NPO Avrora and SPO Arktika, Zvezdochka shipyard will complete the work in nearest five years.

Price talks with the consumer and preparation of contract are presently in progress. Signing of contract is expected in spring, 2010.

The transfer of the ship from permanent basing site to Severodvinsk is planned in June, 2010.
