Black Sea Fleet Commander met with Tatarstan delegation

Vice Admiral Alexander Kletskov, Black Sea Fleet Commander met with delegation from Republic of Tatarstan in Sevastopol. This Russian region has actively conferred patronage upon the Black Sea Fleet for many years. Current visit was also aimed at strengthening and development of patronage communications between the republic and Black Sea Fleet. In particular, the guests visited training detachment of Black Sea Fleet named after Admiral F. Oktyabrsky which is under patronage of Naberezhnye Chelny city.
On the delegation were Vasil Shaikhraziev, the head of Executive Committee of municipal formation Naberezhnye Chelny City, Col Rashid Ilyasov, military commissioner of Naberezhnye Chelny and Rauf Mingaleev, civil defense division head of municipal formation Naberezhnye Chelny City. In the course of the talks Vice Admiral Alexander Kletskov remarked that the fleet esteems very much of partnership and friendly relations formed with Tatarstan officials, said thank to the republic's authorities for permanent attention to the fleet's problems and adequate assistance in their solving. The Commander particularly nibbled at a subject of replacement of Black Sea Fleet by recruits from Tatarstan. "About 300 representatives of your republic are currently servicing on the ships and coastal units of the Black Sea Fleet. Generally, they are estimable sailors", said the Fleet Commander.
Vasil Shaikhraziev, the head of Executive Committee of municipal formation Naberezhnye Chelny City in his turn agreed that only best youngsters intending to serve honestly and conscientiously are sent to the Black Sea Fleet. "We place high emphasis on preservice training. That is the course which helps potential recruits to prepare morally and physically for service in Army and Navy. In prospect we'd like to increase the portion of recruits from Naberezhnye Chelny to 50%".
Young seamen from Tatarstan were also invited to meet with the Commander in his office. It is remarkable that triplet brothers Rishat, Rinat and Marat Fattakhov, started call-in service in Black Sea Fleet in spring, completed the course in training detachment and serve together on large amphibious ship Orsk.
Finishing the meeting, the Black Sea Fleet Commander expressed hope that development rates of relationship between the Fleet and Tatarstan would not decline and further visits of delegations would help to strengthen bridges built and would serve for the benefit of Russia.
It is worthwhile to add that the cooperation between Tatarstan administration and the Navy goes beyond this meeting. Some time ago the construction of multipurpose nuclear submarine Kazan of Yasen-M project was launched on OJSC PO Sevmash. The solemn ceremony was held in shipyard's main slipway workshop, where nuclear submarine Severodvinsk is being built under the same project. The construction of the lead Yasen project submarine (project developer is OJSC SPB MBM Malakhit) was pushed in December, 1993 and is planned to be army-accepted in 2011. The submarines of this project are expected to become Russian main multipurpose nuclear submarines. NS Kazan will be modernized sequel of Yasen project. The improvements are related to element base alteration of radio electronic systems, and also applying only Russian-made equipment and materials.
It is the second time during the history of Russian Navy when the administration of Kazan confers patronage upon nuclear submarine. NS K-403 of 667A project, built in Sevmash and handed over to the Navy in 1971, had carried the name of Kazan since June 30, 1997. In 2004 the vessel was relieved from the Navy is presently in the dock section of Zvezdochka shipyard waiting for utilization. The administration of Kazan addressed to officials of Sevmash and the Navy with the request to give the name of Tatarstan's capital city to the new submarine.
