Black Sea Fleet antisubmarine tactical exercise

The Black Sea Fleet exercise has been started under auspices of Vice Admiral Alexander Troyan, Black Sea Fleet Chief of Staff, has an objective to train fleet's antisubmarine warfare force (AWF) in search and destroy enemy's submarine. Among participants are surface ships, aviation and submarine of Black Sea Fleet.

Under exercise's program, Black Sea Fleet naval aviation represented by two Be-12 aircrafts performed placing of antisubmarine buoys. Corvette Smetlivy, small antisubmarine ships Suzdalets (under the flag of BSF Chief of Staff), Muromets and Aleksandrovets will conduct combat drills with combined use of antisubmarine weapons. Gaining the sea, they will attack the submarine by dummy torpedoes and depth bombs.

After completion of tasks given, the ships will take part in contention combat drill of Navy Commander Prize; they will compete in submarine attack of enemy's combat ships with torpedo firing.

The exercise will last till October, 8.
