Admiralteiskiye Verfi shipyard completed construction of export DES Kilo

30.10.2009
Construction of export Project 636M Kilo diesel-electric submarine is finished at Admiralteiskiye Verfi shipyard. The delivery-acceptance certificate was signed today.

According to procedure required, Russian crew will conduct necessary trials as well as practical training of foreign sailors, after that DES will be de jure delivered to ordering party. That was said by Mikhail Aleksandrov, the shipyard's Engineering Manager.

Two export Project 636M submarines are currently at the shipyard in different degree of completion. Under Rosoboronexport contract, one of them is to be delivered to orderer in 2009, another one – in 2010. Besides, a Project 636 sub built for same foreign orderer few years ago is presently being upgraded at the shipyard.
