Talks on Admiral Gorshkov draw to a close

19.11.2009
Russian arms exporters consider forthcoming negotiations will settle all controversial issues related with signing contract on extra financing of modernization of aircraft carrier Admiral Gorshkov.

"As is known, there are some questions associated with price parameters of Admiral Gorshkov, but forthcoming round of talks will solve all problems and hopefully be the last one", said to Interfax-AVN Vyacheslav Dzirkaln, deputy director of Federal Service for Military Technical Cooperation and head of Russian delegation at Dubai Airshow-2009. At recent session of intergovernmental commission Indian defense minister confirmed once again that all negotiations should be finished and current work should be continued, i.e. completion of the carrier and delivery to the orderer, reminded Dzirkaln.

As for delivery contract of air group for Admiral Gorshkov – 16 MiG-29K deck-based fighters – it is being successfully executed. Moreover, a new optional contract on MiG-29K may be signed in the near term.
