Motorship washed ashore Lake Baikal has been brought afloat

On Friday specialists of East Siberian inland navigation company refloated motorship had been washed ashore Lake Baikal by storm on Tuesday, informed press service of EMERCOM Irkutsk branch.

Motorship Barguzin carrying cargo for Solnechnaya weather station on Monday, Nov 24 ran into a gale and took the ground near Cape Pokoyniki at Lake Baikal. The vessel lied down sideways but the crew of four did not suffer. There was no fuel spillage.

"Motorship Barguzin was brought afloat on Friday at 04.00 am, Moscow time. There was neither damage nor spillage of lubricants. Estimated arrival time at Port of Baikal is 03.00 pm, Moscow time", says press release.

The ship was floated off by tug boat Akademik Koptiug.
