Allies died during WW2 were honored in Severomorsk
11.12.2009 The British delegation visited Severomorsk on Dec 8. Among delegates were John Carney, UK consular to St. Petersburg, Cdr Charming Liver, Navy Attache Assistant and accompanying persons.
The British came to honor legacy of their compatriots died at Kola region during the Great Patriotic War and buried at Severomorsk Memorial Park. Along with Northern Fleet high-ranking officials, they laid wreaths on the graves of British and Canadian pilots and at the monument to Soviet soldiers defended Polar region.
Such events have become a good tradition being continued for many years and promoting better understanding among countries and nations united by common history.
