Number of Russian strategic enterprises will be reduced more than twice; there will be 240 companies less, said Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin at the meeting on arms industry.

"The government developed project of presidential decree. It offers to exclude about 240 stock companies and unitary enterprises out of strategic category", Putin said.

According to him, over 200 companies will remain strategic including "all basic components of military industrial complex, the key assets of the state".

Reduction of strategic enterprises in number will "allow making decisions on them more promptly", added the premier.

"I mean decisions like attracting investments, integration into holdings, or transfer to property of federal subjects", explained Putin.
