Holiday without frontiers: Ukrainian and BSF mariners at May 9 parade

Holiday without frontiers: Ukrainian and BSF mariners at May 9 parade 23.03.2010
Russia's Black Sea Fleet mariners and servicemen of Ukrainian Navy will traditionally march together at May 9 Parade. Over 1,400 men will be involved in Sevastopol parade, including 757 Black Sea Fleet servicemen and 649 Ukrainian mariners.

Prior to on-shore festivities, naval parade of Black Sea Fleet and Ukrainian ships will be held at inner harbor of Sevastopol Bay. Presumably, Russian fleet will be represented by frigate Pytlivy and large ASW ship Kerch. Ukrainian Navy will also dispatch two surface ships to take part in the parade.

During historical part of parade, Black Sea Fleet sailors dressed in army, air force and navy uniform of WW2 will bear copies of Victory Flag, national flag of the Russian Federation and flag of Russian Armed Forces as well as copies of ten front banners.

Cortege of veterans will contain over 5,000 people representing 95 various veteran organizations of Black Sea Fleet and Hero City of Sevastopol.
