A squadron of international ships comprising the Black Sea Naval Cooperation Task Group (Blackseafor) has left the Turkish port of Eregli to take part in rescue drills. Russia is represented by the Caesar Kunikov ship. The Blackseafor was created in early 2001 under the leadership of Turkey, with the participation of all other Black Sea littoral states, namely Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, Russia and Georgia. The original purpose of Blackseafor was to promote security and stability in the Black Sea maritime area and beyond.
