A new warship built on order of Kazakhstan Frontier Service by Ural shipwrights was launched. The vessel named Zhenis [Victory] has displacement of 270 tons. Her introduction into service is occasional to 65th anniversary of the Great Victory. In the next few days Zhenis will reach Caspian Sea to start sea trials. Afterwards, the vessel will be commissioned into Coast Guard. At present, Kazakhstan border in the Caspian Sea is protected by two same class patrol ships Sardar and Sakshi.

"Those vessels were built by professionals, so we believe that they can build reliable ships and boats for our Frontier Service which will be capable to perform border guard tasks at the Caspian Sea excellently. As of 2009, we had arrested over 200 poacher craft, confiscated more than 200,000 km of fishing nets and other poaching tools. This demonstrates how actively we engage maritime component in protection of national bioresources", said Bolat Kyrgyzbayev, deputy director of Kazakhstan National Security Committee and the head of Kazakhstan Frontier Service.

The ship's displacement is 270 tons; length is 40 meters; beam is 8 meters. The ship is equipped with up-to-date comm facilities, navigation instruments, and desalination plant. Zhenis is capable to encounter a 6-7 grade storm which is the strongest in Caspian Sea. The ship's endurance is up to 10 days. By now, Ural shipyard Zenit has built 11 boats and 3 ships. All of them presently protect sea borders.

"Today the ships built by Zenit shipwrights protect Kazakhstan frontiers and resources of the Caspian Sea. I wish all shipwrights to proceed with implementation of such large-scale innovative projects", said Baktykozha Izmukhambetov, governor of West Kazakhstan region.

In the nearest future Zenit shipyard will push construction of the next warship which is going to be twice as large as Zhenis. Presumably, the ship's displacement will make 520 tons. There will be a heliport on the deck contributing to mobility of Kazakhstan Coast Guard.
