Boarding on tanker Moscow University was carried by antiterror team using fast-speed boats, informed RIA Novosti referring to EUNAVFOR spokesman.

Tanker with 23 Russians and 86,000 tons of oil on board captured on Wednesday was freed today by Russian sailors of large ASW ship Marshal Shaposhnikov. Ten pirates were arrested, one was killed. Some sources reported that boarding party had been delivered to the tanker by helicopter.

Russians did use helicopter to investigate prior to operation, at the same time antiterror team on boats secretly approached the tanker and boarded. After brief skirmish pirates were neutralized, said the interviewee.

Small arms, large-caliber arms, grenade launchers and climbing equipment (rope ladders and grapplings) were taken away from arrested pirates, said representative of Russian defense ministry to RIA Novosti.
