Shipbuilders of Zvezdochka Ship Repair Center (Severodvinsk) built a new survival capsule for trials of nuclear-powered submarines. According to the shipyard's press service, "general-purpose 30-men rescue container is designed for people security at deep-water trials of submarines of 3rd and further generations".

During sea trials the container will be mounted on a submarine hull as an additional rescue capsule for trial crewmembers or test teams. The fact is that regular buoyant capsules contain only sub's crew, while other personnel like shipyard experts, designers, and commanders usually attend sea trials as well.

The capsule was designed by Lazurit design bureau (Nizhny Novgorod). According to person in charge Artyom Shevtsov, in the nearest time the capsule will be sent to Nizhny Novgorod where its hull will pass hydraulic-pressure tests at Krasnoye Sormovo shipyard. After strength and hermeticity tests the capsule will be returned back to Zvezdochka for fitting up.
