Veterans of Russian Navy to attend the Sea Days festival in Poland 21.06.2010

Delegation comprising veterans of Russian Navy and Baltic Fleet departed from Kaliningrad today to attend the Sea Days festival and celebrate Polish Navy Day.

The delegation consists of 26 persons; all of them are members of regional public organization "Kaliningrad-Swinoujscie" which consolidates those who served in the Polish port of Swinoujscie at Soviet times where Baltic Fleet naval base had been located since 1945 till 1992.

According to Capt 1 rank retired Vladimir Rashevsky, the chairman of public organization "Kaliningrad-Swinoujscie", the trip was arranged on the initiative of business and cultural association "East-West" and on invitation of West Pomeranian Voivodeship, Republic of Poland.
