A Baltic Fleet serviceman committed suicide 23.06.2010

Investigators conduct an inquiry into the death of soldier served at Baltic Fleet (BF) Coastal Defense Force; according to preliminary data, the serviceman committed suicide on personal grounds, reported RIA Novosti referring to a BF official.

"We confirm that serviceman of BF Coastal Defense Force range Private Denis Grukolenko committed suicide on June 18. The fleet command set an inquiry into this fact", said the BF representative.

According to him, officers of military procuracy conduct investigative activities.

"It was predetermined that the tragedy was based on personal grounds and had no connection with service relations", pointed out the interviewee.

As was previously reported by media agencies, Denis Grukolenko was drafted from Stavropol. His parents were informed that their son had hung himself only 10 days prior to naval discharge.
