Russian Navy will obtain about RUR 4,7 trillions for re-equipment till 2020, reported RIA Novosti citing Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin appeared on Dec 13 at the meeting on adoption of State Arms Program 2011-2020.

One third of this money – over RUR 1.5 trillions – will be appropriated within the next 5 years, added Putin.

According to the prime minister, the program will imply renovation and reinforcing of naval facilities, establishment of naval strategic nuclear force consisting of 4-generation subs, procurement of advanced surface ships, repair and modernization of in-service hardware.

Total financing of the prospect program makes RUR 20 trillions which is thrice as much as the current program has.

"The sum is really enormous and even hard to be pronounced", Putin said.

Thus and so, Russian Navy will receive almost a quarter of national defense budget.
