During solemn meeting related to jubilee of Northern Fleet (NF) ASW Ship Division, acting NF Commander Rear Admiral Andrei Volozhinsky pointed out that "nowadays none surface ship division in Russian Navy cannot compare to Northern Fleet submariners regarding amount of performed long-range cruises and calls at foreign ports".

Ships of the division demonstrated Russian naval flag in ports of Great Britain, the US, Canada, Norway, Netherlands, France, Portugal, Turkey, Syria, Venezuela, Cuba, Panama and other countries.

Large ASW ships Admiral Chabanenko, Admiral Levchenko, and Severomorsk are regular participants of international exercises FRUKUS, Pomor, and Northern Eagle held with French, American, British, and Norwegian warships.

Crews of large ASW ships Admiral Chabanenko and Admiral Levchenko have successfully accomplished tasks of anti-piracy mission in the Gulf of Aden last year. In Dec 2010 the division was reinforced with large ASW ship Admiral Kulakov re-commissioned after repair. Last week the ship excellently performed training tasks during NF Kola flotilla's exercise.

Ships of the division repeatedly won the Soviet/Russian Navy Commander's prizes for ASW training. On Dec 1, 2010 the division's acting commander Capt 1 rank Vladimir Yakushev received the Navy Commander's Prize for best missile firing of ship attack group consisting of large ASW ship Admiral Chabanenko and destroyer Admiral Ushakov. Also, commanding officer of large ASW ship Severomorsk Capt 1 rank Andrei Klimenko also received this award for excellent submarine search and best artillery firing.

At present, crews of the division improve their naval skills preparing for joint exercises Pomor-2011 and FRUKUS.
