Northern Fleet (NF) large ASW ship Admiral Chabanenko which participated in the FRUKUS-2011 international exercise have finished transatlantic cruise and returned to NF main naval base Severomorsk.

The ship's crew was met on the pier by representatives of NF Command, Kola flotilla, ASW Ship Division, and relatives. After mooring and report of the ship's commanding officer, there was a solemn meeting ceremony. Traditionally, NF Commander Vice Admiral Vladimir Korolev handed a piglet roast to the ship's CO Capt 1 rank Stanislav Varik.

NF Commander thanked the crew of Admiral Chabanenko for excellently performed mission and emphasized that servicemen of ASW Ship Division had accumulated great experience of international exercises and long-range cruises.

Large ASW ship Admiral Chabanenko took part in the FRUKUS exercise for the second time. The crew achieved first experience in 2007. Same as four years ago, Russian sailors received high appreciation of the exercise directors and had excellently completed all drills, especially gun firings.

The Russian ship finished the visit to the US on July 1. On her way back, Admiral Chabanenko called at Irish capital city Dublin in July 22-26. NF mariners had a chance to have rest and see Dublin's places of interest. Being underway to homebase, the crew celebrated Russian Navy Day at sea.

The ship's crew will have time for rest and preparation of the ship for new sea cruises.
