Pacific Fleet (PF) task unit headed by large ASW ship Admiral Panteleyev started escorting the fifth convoy through the Gulf of Aden. The convoy consists of four commercial vessels under different flags including a Russian one with 18 Russian sailors on board, told Eastern Military District Information Support Department to Central Navy Portal.

Large ASW ship Admiral Panteleyev will call at the port of Djibouti on Nov 30 and stay there till Dec 2. Apart from supplies replenishment, the crew will attend pre-schedule parliamentary elections. The voting will take place in Russian diplomatic consulate in Djibouti.

Recall that it is the sixth PF task unit participating in the international anti-piracy and shipping-security campaign held in the Gulf of Aden. In 2009, large ASW ship Admiral Panteleyev headed the second PF task unit patrolled African coast.
