NF Deck Pilots Improve Flight Skills in Mediterranean

Thirty two sorties of Su-33 fighters and 9 sorties of Ka-27 deck-based helicopters were carried out on Northern Fleet (NF) aircraft-carrying cruiser Admiral Flota Sovetskogo Soyuza Kuznetsov in Jan 2-3. Totally, 19 flights over the deck, 11 deck touches, and 32 deck landings were performed. In addition, pilots practiced air engagement elements.
Training flights were held underway the route of Russian carrier group in central part of the Mediterranean Sea.
Currently, aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov, large ASW ship Admiral Chabanenko, frigates Yaroslav Mudry and Ladny along with supply vessels are anchored southward Crete Island. After replenishment of supplies, ships of the Russian Navy's interfleet force will continue their activities in the eastern part of the Mediterranean Sea.
