Baltic and Black Sea Fleets accomplished landing exercises in Novorossiysk

Baltic and Black Sea Fleets accomplished landing exercises in Novorossiysk 23.01.2013 The landing exercises of The Baltic and The Black Sea Fleets in Novorossiysk on January 21 were near to be rescheduled because of the weather. The program of exercises was corrected due to the storm of force 4.

Conducting exercises are the largest for last ten years for Russian Navy. The inter-fleet group comprises the warships from the North, Baltic, Black Sea and Pacific Fleets.

One episode of the drills passed on January 21 near Maliy Utrish. Two amphibious assault ships had to land imperceptibly.

Warships crushed interdictory efforts and landed on account of helicopter attack and the marines. Landing operation at unimproved port facilities was performed successfully.

"Weather conditions were difficult. But all tasks of the ship-to-shore assault were done efficiently", deputy commanding general of The Black Sea Fleet rear admiral Alexandr Nosatov said.

As reported the drills will last until January 23. Russian sailors will implement more than 60 training missions, including missile and artillery shooting exercises.
