Kaliningrad's Yantar factory to repair 6 ships of Russia's Baltic  Fleet 03.02.2009
The Kaliningrad shipbuilding factory Yantar won a tender to repair 6 warships and other ancillary vessels of Russia's Baltic Fleet.

According to the result of the tender, which was conducted by the Technical Department of the Russian Navy, all 6 ships will undergo repairs at the Yantar in the nearest six months. The repair work will be confined within 2009. The landing ship Alexandr Shabalin and the first ships are expected at the factory as early as this week.

The Yantar shipbuilding factory specializes in military and civilian shipbuilding, as well as their repair. One hundred and fifty-three warships have rolled out of the factory's production facility since its creation in 1945.
