Black Sea Fleet (BSF) flagship Guard missile cruiser Moskva having performed long-range cruise from Sevastopol arrived to Primorsky Krai, Far East on Wednesday to attend naval exercise, and remains off the military-oriented Strelok Bay, reported RIA Novosti referring to Pacific Fleet (PF) press service.

On May 20 Northern Fleet (NF) flagship heavy nuclear-powered missile cruiser Petr Veliky arrived to Strelok Bay also to participate in naval exercise. Sailed off Severodvinsk, the cruiser has covered over 15,000 nautical miles. Since late March till arrival to Primorsky Krai, Petr Veliky has been performing tasks in Atlantic, Indian, and Pacific oceans.

"Wednesday morning missile cruiser Moskva anchored off Strelok Bay, home base for PF Primorskaya flotilla. Before noon the ship will moor next to Petr Veliky, PF flagship missile cruiser Varyag, and other warships which will hold naval exercise in the Sea of Japan", specified the interviewee.

According to him, Strelok Bay is furnished with special piers suitable for large warships; harbor infrastructure is also appropriate for maintenance of such military and auxiliary vessels.

Petr Veliky and Moskva covered one part of the route from the Horn of Africa to Primorsky Krai together, reminded the interviewee. In Indian Ocean the crews held a number of joint drills, including those with shipborne helicopters. Besides, the ships jointly passed the Strait of Malacca and the Strait of Singapore, having trained navigation in extreme conditions.

"After brief rest of Moskva's crew, warships of the three Russian fleets will head for the Sea of Japan to perform combat training tasks and to hold the exercise which comprised dozens of drills", said the PF spokesman.
