Ukrainian Navy's missile corvette Pridneprovye on Aug 6 arrived at Chernomorsky Shipyard (Nikolayev) from Sevastopol for repairs, reports World Arms Trade Analytic Center referring to Ukrainian defense ministry press service.

According to Surface Ship Brigade EO Capt 2 Rank Oleg Titov, "the ship's underwater part will be fully repaired during the dock repair".

Corvette Pridneprovye is the first Ukrainian Navy ship to be repaired at Chernomorsky Shipyard this year. Chief of the yard's special ship-repair department Gennady Choub said that small-size reconnaissance ship Pereyaslav was at the dry dock under repair as well.

"We expect landing ship Konstantin Olshansky to arrive soon. According to contract tied with Ukrainian Navy, repair of the last of those three ships must finish on November 25. But we're going to deliver the ship earlier", pointed out Gennady Choub.

In his turn, commanding officer of reconnaissance ship Pereyaslav Capt 3 Rank Dmitry Markov said repair works were going on in accordance with schedule.

As for him, "the ship has not passed such dock repair since launching in 1987".

At present, scheduled recovery works are going on over 7 Ukrainian Navy's ships. Totally, it is planned to perform all-round repair on 11 ships from the Navy's combat core. Besides, repair works on 4 supply vessels and 1 aircraft continue. Overhaul of other 8 aircraft is scheduled as well.
