Ukrainian Navy's Flagship Docked for Repairs

Ukrainian Navy's flagship, frigate Getman Sagaidachny on Aug 22 was docked for scheduled repairs at JSC Sevastopol Marine Plant, reported Ukraine defense ministry's press service.
According to the contract, the shipyard will perform scheduled dock repairs of the ship, current overhaul of weapon systems and radioelectronics, and renewal of interior premises.
It is planned to start dock repair late in Aug, it will last till Nov 2012.
"When the overhaul is over early in December, it is planned to hold sea trials after annual maintenance of main propulsion plant", said Capt 2 Rank Roman Pyatnitsky, commanding officer of frigate Getman Sagaidachny.
In his turn, deputy director of JSC Sevastopol Marine Plant Valery Kostyuk said that the dock repairs of frigate Getman Sagaidachny implies, in particular, cleaning and painting of the hull and interior premises, backlash measuring of propeller-rudder system, repair of shipboard towage operating station and winch. Repair works will be performed by the shipyard's specialists and contracting organizations.
