Somali pirates attacked two Greek cargo vessels and probably captured one of them, said representative of Greek Ministry of Citizen's Protection to RIA Novosti on Thursday.

"Pirates attacked vessels Delvina and Theoforos 1 belonging to Greek companies", said the interviewee.

According to her, Delvina's shipmaster apprised of vessel assault and then the comm was over. Crew comprises Ukrainian and Filipino sailors.

The incident occurred 285 miles off Tanzania coast. The ship was sailing from the Mediterranean to Kenyan port Mombasa. The crew strength is uncertain.

The shipmaster of Theoforos 1 informed that his vessel had been attacked in the Gulf of Aden but pirates couldn't capture it. Greek authorities have no information of the crew.

"Theoforos 1 continues its heading escorted by two warships", said the ministry's spokesman. The region is under EU naval mission.
