Turkish ships pay informal visit to Sevastopol 09.04.2010

On Apr 9 Turkish task unit consisting of frigate Barbaros and submarine Yildiray will pay an informal visit to the port of Sevastopol.

The visit of Turkish warships is held in accordance with international cooperation event list of Ukrainian armed forces for March-April 2010.

A courtesy visit of cruise commander and ship commanders to Vice Admiral Viktor Maksimov, Ukrainian Navy Commander is scheduled on Apr 9.

Turkish party will be also presented by Capt 1 rank Argun Gungore, Miltary Attache in Ukraine and Mr. Seiran Osmanov, Honorary Consul in Simferopol.

Program of visit also contains social call to the chairman of Sevastopol city administration.

On Saturday, Apr 10 Turkish mariners will visit Turkish memorial to bestow military honors to died compatriots; then the guests will attend Sapun Gora Memorial to honor legacy of Soviet soldiers died in battles for Sevastopol.

As is planned, ships will be open for public in a weekend, Apr 10-11 since 3 pm till 5 pm.

Informal visit of Turkish warships to Sevastopol will finish on Apr 12.
