Somali pirates have seized a freighter registered in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. They attacked as the vessel was adrift without engine power 520 kilometers off the Seychelles. There is no word of the nationalities or the nature of the cargo on board. According to the International Maritime Bureau, the Somali-based pirates attacked 217 ships last year, capturing 47.
