Somali pirates have seized 77 fishermen onboard three Thai vessels in the Indian Ocean, making it their most daring attack in recent years, a spokesperson for the EU anti-piracy mission said Tuesday. The ships hijacked on Sunday are heading towards the Somali coast. In the last few years Somali pirates have seized dozens of vessels in the Gulf of Aden and the Indian Ocean. They are currently holding 12 with 245 hostages onboard.
