Seven Somali pirates, involved in an attempt to capture a Yemeni oil tanker, an attempt that resulted in the death of two people, were sentenced to capital punishment by the Sana's court earlier today. Each of the six other pirates, tried on the same charges, will have to serve 10 years behind bars. The ITAR-TASS news agency reports that today's sentence has become the first ruling by a court of law on Somalis, involved in sea piracy.
