Ukraine promises to sign supplementary agreements to underlying contract on Russia's Black Sea Fleet (BSF) deployment without a hitch, reports Rosbalt referring to Oleg Voloshin, director of IT Department of Ukrainian foreign ministry.

"Speaking of BSF, Ukraine is ruled by a belief that the weaker legal base of this issue the more conflicts we have. It is still unclear what flags (Russian or Ukrainian) must be used at BSF assets; the matters of conducting exercises remains open; movements of BSF servicemen with arms is also unlegalized. There is a plenty of other issues which have to be settled", said the official.

Voloshin added that "considering that Ukraine willingly agreed to prolong BSF deployment, we are concerned that there would be no conflicts. We want Sevastopol residents to know clearly that the fleet acts within the framework of concrete plans. And Russia is interested in that as well. That is why supplementary agreements are needed. We make good progress in this direction, including the matter of BSF modernization. Fleet is a living organism, after all".

In general, Voloshin assured that a supplementary agreement to underlying contract will be signed in the course of top-level negotiations.

We remind that Russia's deputy foreign minister Grigory Karasin stated that Russia and Ukraine consider a package of draft agreements on Black Sea Fleet which can be signed in future.
