Yushchenko's party protests against reinforcement of Black Sea Fleet

Ukrainian ex-president Viktor Yushchenko and his party "Our Ukraine" voiced protest against the statement of Russian Navy Commander-in-Chief Vladimir Vysotsky that Black Sea Fleet would annually receive 1-2 warships since 2013.

"Current leadership of Russia demonstrates straight disrespect to Ukrainian administration. How else could we treat statements of Admiral Vladimir Vysotsky… Let us speak plainly – now the question is not Ukraine's approval for deployment of additional warships at Ukrainian territory as it is required by bilateral agreements. Nor the question is placing of Russian orders in Ukrainian shipyards (as it was promised by ruling "Party of Regions"); ships will be constructed at Kaliningrad shipyard Yantar. Moreover, this news was told by the Russian admiral, not by defense minister at least. Normally, such behavior means only one thing – occupation. Only in this case the military can take the liberty of making such political statements and initiatives", says the release of "Our Ukraine".

"This means that Moscow treats current Ukrainian president just like average local governor, and only Kremlin is authorized to address all major issues instead of him", consider Yushchenko's supporters.
