Employees of Northern Fleet (NF) Construction Dept will block the federal highway Murmansk-Severomorsk if the 8-month wage arrears are not redeemed. That was said by Natalia Dorovatovskaya, the head of local trade union committee to news agency REGNUM.

"Just when we addressed a letter to the defense ministry, military staff of the company was placed under the jurisdiction of Navy Commander-in-Chief. Accounting office pays off, and those people retired. But civilian employees remain cast-off with millions wage arrears", said Mrs. Dorovatovskaya. "Great strategists" in defense ministry let the NF Construction Dept collapse – now the enterprise has nothing even to sell for cancellation of indebtedness. Everything has been squandered!"

The head of trade union organization said that 20 hunger-strikers have to go to extremes since nobody listens to them again.

As it was previously reported by REGNUM Novosti, employees of NF Construction Dept haven't got wages for over 8 months; they went on a hunger-strike on Sept 27. We recall that military staff of the department is not allowed to take part in strikes, only civilian personnel are involved. According to the procuracy, several directors of the enterprise are accused of misappropriation. One of them faced trial in March 2010 and got a 5.5-year imprisonment term.
