Personnel of Northern Fleet (NF) Construction Dept declared that the hunger-strike was over, reported Interfax referring to the statement of NF Military Procuracy.

The employees decided to give up the strike after meeting with NF military judge and defense minister's advisor. When the talks were over, Russian defense ministry reported that it would satisfy the strikers' demands in the nearest future.

Seven men and 13 women launched the hunger-strike on Sept 27. Strikers demanded redemption of 8-month wage arrears. They set Oct 1 as a deadline and threatened to block the federal highway Severomorsk-Murmansk.

The Governor of Murmansk region Dmitry Dmitrienko said he had arranged debt redemption far back on Sept 27. It was reported at the same time that NF Military Procuracy started an inspection trying to find out the reason of wage arrears.
