Russia continues to maintain Black Sea Fleet (BSF) in Crimea to separate the peninsula from Ukraine as occasion offers, said Ukrainian political analyst Alexander Paliy.

"BSF doe not execute any combat functions. Its only mission is to exert political pressure on Ukraine and maintain the option of Crimea's separation from Ukraine", said he in the interview to UNIAN news agency.

"The biggest issue is that agreements regulating Russia's behavior in force majeure situations are being prepared for signing. I'm afraid they'll mention situations when BSF would be allowed to operate wherever in Ukraine, beyond its basing sites", shared his painful thoughts Mr. Paliy.
