Baltic Fleet conducted a minesweeping contest

Minesweeping task group of Baltiysk Naval Base has completed all tasks of anti-mine competitive tactical exercise for Navy Commander's Prize.

Crews of base minesweepers Alexei Lebedev and Sergei Kolbasiev and harbor minesweepers RT-251, RT-273, and RT-231 led by Capt 1 rank Pavel Prosekov have performed mine reconnaissance, search, and sweeping drills in the exercise zone.

Base minesweepers Alexei Lebedev and Sergei Kolbasiev took part in NATO exercise Open Spirit in Aug 27 - Sept 8; Baltic mariners displayed high naval skills and integrity while mine-sweeping drill. According to Capt 1 rank Pavel Prosekov, harbor defense brigade commander, "crews integrity and decisive actions hold out a hope of positive results".

The final appraisal of the task group will be given by Navy Main HQ only after rigorous assessment of all elements of the competitive tactical exercise.
