Buryatia regional branch of Russian Communist Party addressed a letter to the president Dmitry Medvedev. In particular, they say Aldar Tsydenzhapov is worth awarding a rank of the Hero of the Russian Federation.

"Even his name is translated from Buryat language as "Glory". Mr. President, please take note of the price for the heroic deed of Aldar Tsydenzhapov and its significance for the young generation of Russia. You are kindly requested to award him with the title of the Hero of the Russian Federation (posthumously)".

We recall that an accident happened to Pacific Fleet (PF) destroyer Bystry late Sept. Having displayed courage and at the expense of own life, native of Buryat region Aldar Tsydenzhapov saved lives of 344 crew-mates; he prevented explosion and saved the PF operable warship. PF Command and local authorities made everything to eternalize Aldar's name.

A street will be named after Aldar Tsydenzhapov in his native town; his name is forever in the ship's crew list. The fleet command singled him out for a reward – order "For courage".

Today numerous public organizations of Buryatiya, Irkutsk, and Chita regions spoke for awarding Aldar with the Hero title. Among them is Buryatiya Veterans Organization "Bravery".

A signature collection campaign has been held till Oct 15 on website of local popular newspaper Inform-Polis. In total, about 5,000 signatures have been collected.
