Scheduled repair works on Russian Black Sea Fleet (BSF) frigate Smetlivy (former large ASW ship) are reaching completion phase; overhaul is conducted in floating dock PD-30 of BSF 13th Ship Repair Plant.

Right after the ship was docked, the plant started repair of its bottom, outboard fittings, various interior tanks, and screw shafts.

Commissioned over 40 years ago, now Smetlivy is not only the BSF oldest warship but the only Project 61 ship in service.

Despite her venerable age, two years ago Smetlivy took part in Russian-Georgian conflict and provided landing of BSF marines to Georgian naval base Poti.
