Yesterday evening nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine (SSBN) Yury Dolgoruky returned from trials, reports press-service of Sevmash shipyard.

The sub was met at the shipyard's quay by acting commander of White Sea Naval Base Capt 1 rank Alexander Shevchenko, Sevmash director general Nikolai Kalistratov and his deputies Marat Abizhanov and Mikhail Budnichenko.

Yury Dolgoruky started the trials phase early in the last week.

The sub's crew headed by CO Capt 1 rank Vladimir Shirin and trial team led by Nikolai Semakov accomplished all assigned tasks and tested new equipment and systems.

"That's a lead ship so not everything goes like clockwork", commented trials results Nikolai Kalistratov, Sevmash director general. "Some elements and systems need to be updated. But I'm sure all problems will be completely resolved soon", he said.

After a short brake the submarine will take the sea again.
